◆ 2026 season

Autumn camping in Quebec (Sept–October)

Foliage, dry weather, no bugs, heated cabins start mattering. The connoisseurs season.

September and October are arguably the best two months to camp in Quebec. Bugs are gone, weather is stable, and the foliage starting last week of September into the second week of October is among the best in North America.

Best for: photography, hiking, kayaking on glass-still lakes, late fishing.

Foliage peak: last week of September in Charlevoix and Saguenay, first week of October in Laurentides and Eastern Townships, second week south of the St. Lawrence.

What to pack: warm sleeping bag (–10 °C rating), headlamp (days get short fast), insulated mug, layered clothing.
